Since I'm still going to try & pull off my Halloween costume this year, I need to consider my body shape. Going overboard? Nah, I need to get rid of the weight anyway. For my costume, I want to get a better shape to my neck & back & slim down my arms & try to wittle down my double chin. Since the dress will be showing off these areas, its a good excuse to get into shape. The costume will look much better & I will look better in general. Win-win! I'm also working other areas like my torso & legs. Granted you won't be seeing them much in my costume, but I can't leave them out.
Today I made a listing of all of the things I need to buy with prices. I'm going to start to slowly buy stuff for it. I will start small & get the inexpensive things out of the way. Then I can concentrate on the more expensive things later. Since the site that I will be buying the patterns from lists the yardage & sizes on their site, I can start buying fabric. The bodice only uses 2 yards! I plan on using black cotton sateen for the entire dress. I think that's about $5.99/yd. With a coupon, that cuts the cost down. The skirt I believe is 6.5 yds. That can wait until later. For now I can get the notions (bias tape, hooks & eyes, buttons, etc.). I need to start now if I want to have any hope of completing it by Halloween.
This seems a little daunting, wish me luck on all of it! : )
