My skirts are on hold until I get my Perfect Pleater in the mail. That should be sometime this week (I hope!). For now I've pinned my bodice mock-up pieces together. I need to sew the darts & then I can do a proper fitting. The pattern has a seam going right down the middle of the front of the bodice. I really don't like that. When I cut the actual fabric, I will cut the front on the fold so I have one entire front piece. The back will probably button up as I don't want to do the hook & eye closure the pattern suggests. I don't want to worry about them coming apart during wear. I may need to buy some interfacing. I need to check on what I have already. I will also need to buy some buttons for the back of the bodice. I'm still deciding on what to do with the (approximate) yard of antique black lace trim I have. I will need to play with it & decide on where I want to place it on the bodice. My time is starting to get eaten up. I may need to push back my finish date until sometime in October. This is nothing new really. I'm usually finishing it up the morning of the day I need it.
I may post pics of the bodice mock-up process, or I may just wait until I have the actual fabric pieces cut. We'll see. Stay tuned!
