My costume is finally done. Two days after my deadline, it's done. Sorry I don't have pics, it won't fit on my dress form now that it's fitted to my corseted waist. I'll post pics after Halloween (I'll be all dolled up then anyway). My hoop is so big, it has moons orbiting it. But the whole thing looks fabulous! Yes, I am shamelessly gloating, but I really outdid myself. It turned out so much better than I expected. This is by far the most beautiful & elegant costume I've made. How am I going to top this next year? Ugh, let's hope it doesn't involve another hoop. Maybe a bustle, but please no more cage hoops. Those are beasts!
In regards to the accessories, my glove lace & sewing machine couldn't make friends so they didn't happen. The lace was too floppy & kept getting stuck. That pattern really requires stronger fabric. However, my fascinator is quite fascinating ; ). It turned out really great. I just hope my clip holds well. It looks really good when I hold it up to my head. It lays well so it doesn't look disconnected. I've never made a fascinator before but I'm pretty proud of this one. I still need to make a pic of my late cat to put in my locket. I had to put him to sleep earlier this year so I am in mourning for him. Rest well little Byron.
On a happier note, I found some really nice eyeshadow @ Claire's. It has different colors of grey, purple, brown, all of the colors I think make brown eyes pop. However, now that I don't have gloves, I'm not sure what to do about my nails. They're not in the best shape & I want to save my artificial nails for vacation. I might just paint them anyway. They're all approximately the same length, they just need some work. I hope I can squeeze in some time to do that.
