Not as daunted

I have the front of the blouse mostly done.  I may try to fix the one side where the ruffle meets the pleats on the far end.  Tonight I will finish the back & try sewing the back & front together.  I'm really hoping I do a good seam matching job.  That has had me really worried.  Too many mis-matched seams look really sloppy.  After the front & back is sewn, I will attach the collar & sew on the buttons (& make buttonholes).  After that I will sew the dress shoulders together & sew the blouse to the dress (adding the neckline ruffle).

This weekend I bought the bows & buttons for the sleeve cuffs.  The buttons aren't as nice as I'd like, but they'll do.  I blame Joann's for a terrible selection.  Soon I will purchase the fabric for the underskirt.  It will also have an elastic waist.  I feel this is fine because no one will see the waistband when its being worn.  I also need to make sure the bottom ruffle is the same length as the dress.  It would look very bad if it was too long or too short.  This shouldn't be too difficult though, I just need to make sure I do good measurements.

After the blouse is done & sewn in, I will start the bottom ruffles & sew in the side zipper.  I hope I can figure out my ruffler attachment.  I really hope it is compatible with my machine (the site said it would be but I haven't tried it out yet).  If it is, the ruffles will look neat & professionally done.  I will do a rolled hem on the top & bottom of the ruffle too.  It feels so good to be this far along.  I have almost 4 weeks to complete it.  I think I will be done way before my deadline (2/17).  That makes me a very happy camper!
